The girls and I made mighty plans this week.
First, the good folks at GirlVentures and I made plans to sell copies of Up: A Mother and Daughter's Peakbagging Adventure at this year's EMPOWER! Breakfast in San Francisco. GirlVentures will receive 50% of the money from books sold at that conference; I am thrilled and honored to be able to give to such a wonderful organization in this way. I'm even more thrilled and honored to be the guest speaker at this year's Breakfast. Last year's guest speaker was Jennifer Siebel Newsom, the creator of Miss Representation. I'll write more about GirlVentures in the days to come.
Second, we shaped up the details of this year's highpointing trip. We're going to spend a week acclimating, then we're going to go for whatever peaks make sense at the time in terms of weather and a few other variables. Our gear is ready, the girls are excited, and we've coordinated our schedule with Hugh's (he'll meet us out there from time to time). We leave for this trip in the near future.
Third, we made some tentative plans for a Very Big Trip. This particular trip isn't 100% confirmed just yet, but we're hopefully getting close...I'll announce what we're doing as soon as I'm able.
By the way, we recently received wonderful news. A talented friend of ours is writing a book on New Hampshire's 52 With a View. This book, which will be published by local Bondcliff Books, will be part memoir and part guidebook -- read more about it here.
That's it for now. Tune in next Tuesday for the latest Trip Report.

Wow, this post is just full of EXCITING news! Can't wait for the highpointing adventure reports. So sorry you covered Tennessee before I knew you! Would've loved to have touched that one with you, Alex & Sage!
Thanks, Sharon! The girls and I do have quite a few travel adventures coming up. First we head west to highpoint, then we're off to San Francisco for GirlVentures' EMPOWER! breakfast, then we're speaking at the Boston Book Festival. There are also more magazine reviews on UP coming out in the near future. Good times, we feel very fortunate.
Hi Trish, life has been kind of crazy lately so I'm sorry I didn't comment early. Thanks so much for the shout out and the kind words about the upcoming book. Not to mention the link! I appreciate it it very much. Have fun on your trip. Good luck!
Dan and Meena,
My pleasure regarding your upcoming book! I'll be happy to keep talking about it here once the date of publication draws a little closer. I'm very excited for you folks!
