Highpointing is the act of standing on the highest point of every state. See Highpointers Club for information about each of the 50 peaks.
This list has a unique rule -- one is allowed to ascend and descend by any method. Hiking, biking, driving, being carried...it all counts. This is a novelty for us; for every other other list we've pursued, hiking on one's own two feet has been an absolute requirement.
Here's a list of the highpoints. We've linked the peaks we've already done to the appropriate trip reports. We hope to finish highpointing everything except Denali before Alex leaves for college in 2021. Denali, if it is to be done, will be climbed after both girls turn 18. I personally feel that is a mountain best left to adults.
